Holiday Happenings in Sandy Springs

Lifestyle December 11, 2025

Sandy Springs really comes alive during the holiday season, and as someone who’s lived here for years, I love how the city blends community energy with festive fun. Whether you’re looking for a lively outing with friends, a family adventure, or a relaxing evening stroll, there’s something for everyone this time of year.

One of my favorite seasonal highlights is the holiday displays at City Springs. Earlier in December, the city hosted the Sparkle Sandy Springs parade with floats, live music, and performers. Even after the parade, the holiday “Snow Village” — a collection of miniature houses decorated by local schools and community groups — remains on display throughout the month, offering a festive spot to explore and take photos.

For a more active way to celebrate, Skate City Springs offers an outdoor ice rink open through the holiday season. Skating with seasonal music in the background is a fun option for families, friends, or couples looking for a little winter magic without leaving town. It’s one of those activities that always draws a crowd and makes the season feel special.

Community organizations also host smaller, holiday-themed events throughout the city. Local nonprofits have toy and food drives, pop-up craft fairs, and other seasonal programs that let residents give back while enjoying the festive spirit. One of my favorites is the Toy Drive sponsored by the Sandy Springs Fire Department. These events highlight the heart of Sandy Springs during the holidays and give everyone a chance to participate in the community.

Neighborhood decorations across Sandy Springs add another layer of fun. Walking or driving through the city’s decorated streets is a simple way to enjoy the season and discover creative light displays from neighbors and local groups. Even a short stroll can feel like a festive adventure, especially with family or friends.

From my perspective, what makes Sandy Springs really special during the holidays is how easy it is to find something fun no matter what you’re in the mood for — whether that’s checking out the displays at City Springs, skating with the kids, or popping by a local craft event. There’s a real sense of community, and it’s the kind of place where even small outings feel festive and memorable.
