There’s something about Midtown in the fall that feels electric. Maybe it’s the festivals filling Piedmont Park, or maybe it’s just the cooler air that makes the city feel more alive. Either way, this is the season when Midtown really shows off why it’s the cultural hub of Atlanta—and why so many of us take pride in calling it home.
One of my favorite things about Midtown is how accessible everything is. Take a stroll to 10th Street Park on a Wednesday evening in September or October, and you’ll hear live music drifting from the “Live After 5” series. It’s small, it’s casual, but it captures the essence of Midtown—creative, welcoming, energetic, and a place residents can genuinely feel proud to be part of.
September also brings big events, like Shaky Knees Festival (September 19–21) in Piedmont Park. It’s not every day you can walk from your condo to see bands like My Chemical Romance, Vampire Weekend, and Blink-182 sharing the stage. Living in Midtown means this isn’t just a concert—it’s part of your neighborhood, and a source of pride for those who love a city that celebrates music and culture so boldly.
I also love how Midtown celebrates film and storytelling, especially for cinephiles. Out On Film, Atlanta’s LGBTQ+ film festival running late September into early October, is a highlight of the season. Screenings at the Landmark Midtown Art Cinema showcase powerful, thought-provoking films from indie gems to international features. And of course, Midtown’s Pride celebrations are unforgettable, bringing the community together with parades, performances, and events that make everyone feel seen, celebrated, and proud. These experiences make Midtown feel vibrant, inclusive, and something truly special to be part of.
This October, something new and whimsical is arriving at Pullman Yards: Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy (opening October 15). It’s an outdoor art-meets-fairground experience with immersive installations that feel part carnival, part gallery. Midtown never stops surprising me, and Luna Luna is exactly the kind of creative experience that makes living here so dynamic—and a source of pride for those lucky enough to call it home.
If Midtown is calling your name, I’d love to help you explore the condos, townhomes, and neighborhoods that keep you close to all of this energy. Living here means you’re never far from culture, music, food, fun, and celebrations of pride—and fall is the perfect time to experience it for yourself.
